ColonialWebb is one of the largest mechanical contractors on the East Coast. With headquarters in Richmond, VA, we operate out of eight regional offices located in Richmond, Norfolk, Newport News, Harrisonburg, and Roanoke, VA - Greenville, SC - Charlotte, NC and in the Washington/Baltimore Metro Area.
As a full service contractor serving the Mid-Atlantic area since 1972, we provide our clients with Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Construction, Maintenance and Repair support in the fields of HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Process Piping, Controls, Electrical, and Water Treatment systems.

Company History
ColonialWebb Contractors is a unique company born from the unification of Webb Technologies, Inc. and Colonial Mechanical Corporation. The founding companies enjoyed a rich history of taking care of customers by providing quality service, whether it is through construction or service activities. Today, as one company, we will build on this reputation through the efforts of our employees, the men and women who really make it happen!

Colonial Mechanical Corporation was founded in Richmond as a Virginia Corporation in May of 1972. After two years in the residential heating and air conditioning business, a decision was made to direct all marketing efforts toward the commercial, institutional, and industrial markets. This started Colonial Mechanical Corporation on its rapid rise to its current leadership position in our market.
In 1975, Webb Technologies began doing business as H.M. Webb and Associates in Norfolk. Virginia. Webb grew from a small air conditioning and refrigeration business to one of the most respected mechanical and refrigeration contractors on the east coast.
During 1998, both Companies were purchased by FirstEnergy Corporation. They were operated by FirstEnergy as “sister companies” for nearly four years. In early 2003, Colonial Mechanical, and its sister company, Webb Technologies, were acquired by the original owners of Webb Technologies. For the next two years, the Companies operated independently but worked together to support customers and take advantage of market opportunities. In 2005 the two Companies were unified to form ColonialWebb Contractors. Our new name reflects the combined strength of Colonial Mechanical and Webb Technologies, two separate companies that have united after working side-by-side for many years.
This means that from now on one company – not two, as before – is the region’s premier source for Construction, Service and Manufacturing with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, process piping, refrigeration, controls, and water treatment.
