High end custom home builder known for its quality, service and integrity has an opening for an experienced Residential Drafter to add to our talented team. This person will work with us to design and prepare detailed drawings for new custom home and remodel projects using Chief Architect design software. Remote work arrangements possible for the right candidate. Builder will also consider contracting with an individual providing drafting services if the appropriate qualifications are presented.
Position Summary:
This individual will assist the design department by preparing detailed drawings and plans of architectural and structural features for new custom home projects and of existing homes for addition and remodel designs.
Proficiency with Chief Architect or related design software.
Understanding of construction concepts as they pertain to residential building.
Some college experience or degree preferred; architectural courses or formal education are a bonus.
Must have the skills and ability to interpret and produce complex architectural plans, details, and blueprints.
Working knowledge of construction practices; some hands-on construction experience helpful.
Must be personable and articulate with a polished and professional image, and able to represent the company both verbally and in written communications.
Must be detailed, well organized and an effective time manager to ensure that all aspects of the project assigned are completed on schedule.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to interface effectively, collaboratively and professionally with coworkers, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and others involved with business operations.
