As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Drafter I to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and drawings for parts & assemblies for Mechanical and Electrical products for Engineering and Technician use.
- Construct exploded views of models & drawings.
- Work according to drafting standards established by the NDBC.
- Assist with updating and maintaining drafting guidelines for the Drafting team.
- Implement and understand metadata & iProperties in AutoDesk Inventor for parts, assemblies, and models.
- Review models and drawings according to configuration management processes in AutoDesk Vault.
- Support the management of configuration and change control for NDBC-operated stations and deployed equipment.
- Incorporate updates and corrections into production 3D models and drawings.
- Collaborate with Engineers & Technicians to design and maintain 3D models and drawings.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for the Engineering and Drafting team on designing 3D models and drawings.
- Work with vendors & manufacturers to obtain & integrate metadata into AutoDesk Inventor.
- Assist in tracking equipment failures on stations, sensors, system LRU's, and other equipment.
- Assist in identifying and recommending component design changes to address technology and/or component obsolescence.
Qualifications
Required:
- Entry Level
- Education: AS Drafting
- Training or experience with CAD 3D solid modeling tools such as AutoCAD Inventor.
Desired:
- Training/familiarity with electronic and mechanical design, drafting and preparation for production and as-built drawings of structures and equipment systems derived from layouts and sketches.
- Training/familiarity with 3D modeling wiring diagrams.
- Training/familiarity with Autodesk Vault.
