Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team in Ogden, Utah. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery (Weeke, SCM, Shop Sabre) to produce high-quality components according to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC programming and operation, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming & Operation
• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (Weeke, SCM, Shop Sabre) to manufacture parts to precise specifications.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to develop efficient machining processes.
• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for new and existing parts.
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
• Perform machine setup, calibration, and adjustments as needed.
Quality & Process Improvement
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues to maintain production efficiency.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance quality, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and production activities.
Maintenance & Safety
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure alignment on project requirements and timelines.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives to support company goals and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, machining, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience programming and operating CNC machines, preferably with Weeke, SCM, or Shop Sabre equipment.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks) is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
